Our promise about your photos

  • We never sell your photos to anyone.
  • We never share them with third parties for their own use.
  • We never use them for advertising, profiling or tracking.
  • We never run facial recognition or any biometric analysis on them.

Your photos are yours. We only store and display them to run the event gallery and slideshow you paid for — nothing else.

1. Who we are

CrowdShots ("we", "us") is an event photo-sharing service operated under ABN 27 657 163 892, in New South Wales, Australia. By creating an event or uploading to one, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. The service

CrowdShots gives you a QR code and web page so your guests can upload photos into a private gallery, view them on a live slideshow, and let you download them. No app is required for anyone.

3. Your account and event password

When you create an event you set a password. You're responsible for keeping it safe and for anyone who uses it. We can't recover a lost password — it's stored only as a one-way hash, so not even we can read it. The private slideshow link contains a secret key; keep it to yourself.

4. Payment, GST and refunds

A paid event is a one-time charge of A$10 (inclusive of GST) per event, with no subscription. Payment is processed securely by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details. A tax invoice is emailed to you and is available to download from your account. If something goes wrong on our end and your event never worked, contact us and we'll sort out a refund.

5. Your photos and who owns them

You and your guests own the photos you upload. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process and display that content so the service works (for example: converting images to a consistent format, generating thumbnails and a slideshow, and letting you download everything). That permission ends when the content is removed. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.

6. Privacy — how we handle your data

The promise at the top of this page is binding. In more detail:

7. How long we keep your photos

Your gallery is available for about 90 days from when you create the event. We email you reminders before it closes so you have time to download everything. After the gallery period ends your photos are removed from the live service. We may keep a secure, non-public backup for a short period for recovery only, after which it is purged. We never repurpose your photos.

8. Acceptable use

9. Availability

We work hard to keep the service running and your photos safe, but we provide it "as is" and can't guarantee uninterrupted access. Always download your photos to keep your own copy.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those non-excludable rights, our total liability for any claim relating to an event is limited to the amount you paid for that event.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows when. Continuing to use the service means you accept the current version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

13. Contact

Questions, requests to access or delete your data, or anything else: email [email protected].
